EVENT PLANNER
Location: Massey Fairgrounds, Massey, ON
Terms: 12-weeks, full time contract (35 hours per week), start date May/June 2026
Wages: $20-$24/hour based on experience
About us: The Massey Agricultural Society is a volunteer organization. Our mission is to encourage agricultural awareness, celebrate our community, promote arts and culture, and the rural lifestyle. We provide educational, cultural, and agricultural experiences to our members and the public.
About the role: The successful candidate will work in coordination with the Massey Agricultural Board in planning for our 119th Massey Fair - a Celebration of Agriculture and Rural Living. Tasks will include overseeing summer staff, assisting with the administration of summer day camps, working with potential sponsors, vendors, and community artists. The Event Manager will be expected to plan using the budget determined by the board.
Requirements:
Legally eligible to work in Canada
Between the ages of 15-30 as per the Canada Student Jobs Opportunity Grant
Must be available to work occasional weekends and evenings
Must be available to work Massey Fair Week and at least 2 days following the fair.
Valid CPIC
Valid First Aid & CPR
Access to a personal vehicle is an asset
Experience/Skills:
Independent work habits including being able to problem solve and show initiative
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Leadership qualities to motivate and manage a team
Computer skills including experience with Google platform & Canva
